N-up PDF — Multiple Pages Per Sheet

Arrange two or four pages of a document onto a single sheet, so a long printout becomes a compact handout and uses far less paper.

How to use it

Add the PDF

Drop the document above. The page count is shown so you can work out how many sheets the result will need.

Choose how many pages fit on a sheet

Two per sheet is the usual choice for a handout; four gives a denser cheat sheet. Pages fill the sheet left to right, then top to bottom.

Set the sheet orientation

Leave it on Auto to follow the shape of your original pages, or force portrait or landscape if you know which way the paper will be loaded.

Adjust the spacing

Open Advanced options to change the margin between the mini pages, or add a thin border as a cutting guide.

Generate and print

Press the button, download the result and check one sheet before printing the whole run. The preview in your PDF reader is the quickest way to confirm the layout.

Common issues

A sticker-sized page becomes tiny

N-up shrinks every page, so content that is already small becomes very small. Two-up is usually the practical limit for dense text; four-up suits slides or reference cards.

The last sheet is half empty

That is normal for a document whose page count is not a multiple of two or four. The unused cell is simply left blank.

A margin that is too large is refused

If the margin plus the mini pages will not fit on the sheet, the tool stops and asks you to lower it rather than producing overlapping content.

Links inside the pages stop working

Clickable areas belong to the original page coordinates and do not follow the embedded, scaled copies. Use the normal single-page version if working links matter.

Frequently asked questions

Is the text still sharp?
Yes. Each source page is embedded as a vector object and scaled down rather than screenshotted, so text stays crisp, selectable and searchable.
How is the order decided?
Pages fill the sheet left to right, then top to bottom: page 1 top-left, page 2 top-right on a four-up sheet. This matches normal reading order.
Can I do three pages per sheet?
Not currently. Two and four cover the common handout and booklet layouts. A document whose page count is not a multiple of two or four simply leaves the last cell empty.
What sheet size does it use?
The result keeps the paper size of your original first page, rotated if needed so the mini pages fit comfortably. If your document is A4, the output is A4.
Will the mini pages be the right way up?
Pages that carry their own rotation are placed upright in their cell, so a page that looks sideways in your reader is turned back the correct way.
Does it add cutting marks?
Optionally. Tick "Draw a thin border around each page" in Advanced options to get a light rectangle you can trim along.
Can it make a booklet in the right order?
No. This tool keeps reading order. A saddle-stitch booklet needs pages paired in a different sequence, which is a separate operation.
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit, though a very large document produces a large output file and takes longer. Processing happens in your browser.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The layout is built locally and the finished file is created on your device.
