About AI-Mind
AI-Mind is a small, focused collection of document and image tools that run in your browser. It exists to solve a narrow problem well: everyday file conversions that should not require handing your private documents to someone else’s server.
What this site does
Every page on AI-Mind does one job and does it directly — merging PDFs, splitting them, rotating and removing pages, converting between PDF and images, converting or compressing HEIC, WebP, PNG and JPG images, and converting between PDF and Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. There is no dashboard to learn and no account needed to use a tool. You open a page, add a file, and download the result.
We deliberately keep the set of tools small and complete rather than listing hundreds of half-finished utilities. Each tool page contains the working tool, a short how-to, an FAQ drawn from real questions, and a note of when the page was last reviewed.
How the tools work
Almost all processing happens in your own browser tab using JavaScript that runs on your device. Depending on the tool this means pdf-lib for reading and writing PDF documents, pdf.js for rendering PDF pages to images, and the browser’s built-in Canvas API for image decoding, resizing and re-encoding (with heic2any for Apple HEIC files).
The practical consequence is simple: by default your files are never uploaded anywhere. When you choose a file, it is read from your local disk straight into the browser’s memory, and when the job finishes the result is written straight back to your downloads.
Three tools break that pattern, because rebuilding a document’s layout is more than a browser can do: PDF to Word, PDF to Excel and PDF to PowerPoint. Each shows a prompt explaining exactly what will happen and waits for you to agree before anything leaves your device; the file is used for that one request and then discarded.
Why we build it this way
Most online converters ask you to upload a file, wait in a queue, and trust an unknown server with a document that may contain personal or confidential information. Doing the work locally removes that trust problem entirely. It also removes the queue: because there is no round trip, results appear as fast as your device can produce them, and the tools keep working even with a slow or intermittent connection.
Who runs this
AI-Mind is run and maintained by a small independent team. The site is hosted on Cloudflare’s network, and the tools themselves are open web technology — there is nothing proprietary about the way your files are processed.
If something is wrong, unclear, or missing, please tell us. The contact details are on the contact page, and every tool page carries a short feedback form.
What we do not do
- We do not store, read or share the files you process with a tool. The browser-based tools never send them anywhere; the three converters that do use a server send a file only after you agree, for that one request, and keep nothing afterwards.
- We do not add watermarks, cover pages or branding to your output.
- We do not require you to create an account to use a tool — an account is optional and exists only to keep your own history.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Accuracy and updates
Tool behaviour changes as browsers evolve, and descriptions can drift. Each tool page states the date it was last reviewed. If you find a page that is out of date, or a tool that produces a wrong result, the feedback form at the bottom of that page reaches us directly.
